Guest guest
Our son was put on the antivirals because his NK cells (Natural Killer) turned out to be about 50 per cent of the normal level. This led Dr. G to suspect he may have viruses present even if they don't show up in the titers. He said that experience has made him go this way, since he has been surprised how often viruses are present. He said there were three things that could happen. 1 - nothing, which would indicate no viruses present. 2 - hyper activity, in which case he would change the medication. 3 - a cranky irritable child for 2 to 3 weeks, which would indicate a virus is present. We are definitely getting number 3. > > > Valtrex was horrible for my son.
