Hi Gang,

The May 5th cover story for the San Fransico Chronicle was titled

" Overwhelmed by Autism " . You can read the story at

www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/chronicle/archive/2002/0

5/05/MN142394.DT. I think it would be great if we could all send

letters to the reporter suggesting that she do a follow up. You

can email her at kseligman@....

I sent the following letter and information.

Dear Ms. Seligman,

Thank you for your May 5th article on the current epidemic known

as Autism. I think it is extremely important that people in our

country know that we have a true epidemic on our hands that

does not seem to be slowing down, rather gaining speed at an

alarming rate. While your story did cover some key points one

area that was missed was the autoimmune connection to

Autism, this could be the key to this current crisis.

Finding a cure is extremely important to me because I have a

4-year-old little boy that has been diagnosed with autism. While

the road to recovery has been slow and painful at times, I truly

feel that is going to beat this. We have been fortunate

enough to learn about a Dr. Goldberg in Tarzana

California who has had incredible success with children

diagnosed with Autism.

I have attached a statement from Dr. Goldberg that explains his

findings in Autistic children as well as an article written by one of

Dr. Goldberg's patients. I hope you will take the time to read

them both.

Parents need to know that there is hope and a bright future for

some of these kids and that accepting a life long sentence is not

the way that it has to be.

Please feel free to call or email me with any questions that you

might have.
