Dayna,

Great interview....I ordered my book...

How is Kate doing???Are you getting out soon???? I missed what

happened.

- Book to help with anxiety

-

I'm so sorry you had such a horrible IVIG - we've been there, done that.

Here is somethng that may, or may not help - when Charlie started his

infusions, he had a lot of anxiety - so I wrote him a book about it -

recently, Baxter published that book, a long with a " scrapbook " style

template/book for kids to do a book with their parents (with their

pictures, and words) along with stickers that are medical related (even

an IVIG bottle) it's free of charge (YEA!) and can be ordered at

www.immunedisease.com

The other thing is - We've all made the hydration mistake - even after a

few years, I'v'e made the mistake - just a thought - the day before our

infusion - we give the kids tons of salty foods (bacon, sausage, hot

dogs, chips, salty crackers) and it makes them thirsty - so they are

super hydrated going into infusion day. You should check with your doc

and see if diet wise it's okay for you to do - but - it may work for

your kiddos too. BTW - I've also explained to Charlie and the

importance of hydration and they ask for water and gatoraide on the days

before infusions - maybe explaining that was why it took so many sticks

would help?

Hang in there -

Dayna
