Guest guest
Dear Caroline, The more I read about your sons labs, the more I'm amazed by the similarities between our boys. If I remember correctly, you recently said that your sons MCV, MCH levels are high, WBC a bit low, sed rate little high and viral tests are neg. We have the exact same labs with . His WBC is low, the only viral titer that is high is sackie-but he had the virus last summer, MCV and MCH are always low. How were your sons MMR titers? 's were high-but there is nothing to do about this, so I'm told. Did you mention that you once lived on a golf course and you thought that you were being affected by the chemicals used to treat the grass? I'm not sure if this was your post or not? We also live on a golf course and it seems so odd that our boys labs as well as there symptoms are are so similar. also developed normal muscle tone after antivirals as well as other meds on the protocol.. Please write back on or off list . Thank you, Re: test results Anne-Marie, The only things that were flagged as abnormal in my son's first labs 2 years ago were his antigliadin antibodies and his sed rate (the sed rate was a little high but not extremely high). His WBC was a bit low but still in the normal range, and Dr. G commented on that possibly indicating a viral connection (even though none of the viral tests had come back positive). The WBC count has been a continued focus in our case, even though it is usually right at the low end of " normal " . The labs are not the only thing Dr. G looks at... the child's own medical history and family history also weigh heavily. The fact that my child had hypotonia (low muscle tone) and HORRIBLE motor skills (at age 6 when he started with Dr. G he could even not blow his nose) was, Dr. Goldberg said, an indicator of possible underlying viral involvement. Dr. Goldberg was right. Within a couple of months of starting the protocol, my son could blow his nose. After being on Valtrex (and other meds) for a while, my son's muscle tone NORMALIZED. He had never had reflexes and he developed normal reflexes. To quote the pediatric specialist he was seeing " This just doesn't happen! " . She called Dr. Goldberg and after the conversation, she started referring some of her patients in Indiana out to see Dr. Goldberg in CA. The whole picture is a puzzle and it manifests in different ways in different kids. That is part of why it has been so hard to figure out. Hang in there... there is great hope for these children. Guest guest
Hi Jess, We saw immediate results with the antivirals as I said before. After a period of die-off (three weeks if I remember correctly) went from not being able to ride a tricycle to riding a two-wheel bike(w/training wheels set at the top so he had to balance). His language also improved greatly. His motor planning was much improved also. Hope this helps, Re: test results That's what I was told about her Candida being negative. That since she had thrush as an infant it is impossible for her not to have any antibodies in her system. So either the test was wrong or she has a fungal infection and her body is not doing anything to fight it. Can you tell me about die off. I was told that since her HHV-6 is high, the first thing will be anti-virals. I've read in post about die off with anti-fungals, but I don't know if I saw it relating to anti-virals. Is there a difference in reaction. What were some of the things all of you saw? And is there anyone who saw immediate progress? Guest guest
, You're right about the WBC being a bit low, sed rate little high and viral tests being negative... but the MCV and MCH levels on my son are right in middle range. That must have been someone else. I also remember someone saying they had lived on a golf course, but that wasn't me (but I'm sure the view was lovely!). Funny you should mention the MMR titer. That is one test I don't believe we have ever run on my son, but my " NT " daughter had to be vaccinated this year (kindergarten shots... we wanted to follow Dr. G's advice and wait 'til she was older to do the MMR) because we had those titers run on her and she didn't show immunity. That reminds me that Dr. G suggested that we have those titers run again to see if the new vaccines took. I should buy stock in the company that makes Emla... or Ela-Max. By the way, my son is evidently a PANDAS kiddo... his strep antibodies were high and after watching them for many months, Dr. G decided to put him on Erythromycin and we had a great improvement in focus within a few days (obvious enough that the teacher called me from school in the middle of the day to express her delight). BTW , if you're reading this, I forgot to mention that one to you. I'm so glad is doing well. I find it an interesting twist of fate that my child had hypotonia and that if he hadn't *also* had an ASD diagnosis (which led us to Dr. Goldberg), he would still be hypotonic. Every cloud does have a silver lining. Hope that helps! Guest guest
Hello Everyone, Yet again I have hit another road block! I had another round of blood tests done, including the FREE T3 and T4 that everyone told me to have checked. Again, I am as healthy as any women would want to be! Great News, but what about the HAIR LOSS? I can't be too healthy if I am losing my freaking hair! I don't know where to go next. I'm trying to see a Dermatologist but the only one I would trust, is not taking any new patients. I don't want to go to just any Derm. I am going to get started on a healing program and vitamins from a Wellness specialist. It can't hurt! Who knows, maybe the vit. will help the hair loss...doubt it! Does anyone think I should have my test results faxed to Dr. Melmed or Kolb for a second opinion? Or anyone else for that matter? Any info would be appreciated! Guest guest
Hi Marie, Do you have a good ND in your area? ND’s look at test results differently and what is normal to an MD isn’t always to an ND. You know your body and you know something isn’t right. I wouldn’t give up. Definitely fax the results to Dr. Melmed or Dr. Kolb. They know implants and related problems better than any other docs out there. Have you done a hair analysis? Guest guest
Kenda, I don't think Dr. Melmed gets into treating - or even understanding - the illnesses caused by implants. Dr. Kolb would be the best information source. Hugs, Rogene

Guest guest
Hmmm, mine was done at labcorp (same company as Quest now). I don't have any overt symptoms right now. And I think my symptoms of faintness & light headedness when I do have them are more related to neurally mediated hypotension than blood sugar problems or hypoglycemia. Who knows? I may up the chromium intake. I've noticed an improvement in my overal cravings when I take chromium. And I know some docs believe you can prevent diabetes with chromium, so might be worth a shot. Thanks, though. I'll just get it retested and I guess you get some additional tests for hypoglycemia and diabetes as well? penny kgg12003 <kgenest@...> wrote: >> Anyone know anything about Glucose Serum? This woman had a super clean diet so it was incredible to think that she was diabetic. Anyway,do you have a friend or relative who uses a home monitor? She did some random fastings and 1-2 hours after meals. No results showed that she was diabetic or even running high. Best,
Guest guest
I just received results from a BCR/ABL FISH study and my results came back 0.0%. I am not sure if this is the same type of test that many of you have done and should I have additional tests done to dig further to see if I am actually free of the Ph gene? I am such a newbie when it comes to understanding the medical side of CML. Margie Nance Charlotte, NC 09/09 Gleevec 400mg
Guest guest
Hi Margie, FANTASTIC... that's the kind of good news we all love to hear! Don't worry, stick around this group and you will soon impress your friends and family as you become a science wizard! Ha Ha! The're others here who are really good at explaining things in terms most of us can understand. Your next test will probably be what's called an RT-PCR, or PCR for short. That is a very sensitive test when it comes to looking for signs of CML. From your point of view it is just another blood draw but it takes some real wizards to complete the process. Your goal is to become PCR-U " Undetectable " , and stay that way! Stay in touch with the group, these are ALL great people!
