Guest guest
Thank you Tracey When I was on Gleevec I was very pale but not so on Tasigna. Does Tasigna not have that enzyme??? The gene that causes CML (BCR/ABL) has nothing to do with skin. Gleevec however has a secondary effect by inhibiting an enzyme called c-kit which regulates the production of melanin. With melanin being in short supply, skin colour becomes pale. This effect is due to the drug, not the disease. Tracey
Guest guest
Hi Guys, I can tell you I am very brown here in sunny warm Australia! I think I've heard others say that their skin was not as dramatically affected by Tasigna as it was with Gleevec.
