Sometimes a dry cough is also an unwanted side effect of other medications.

I had to have my blood pressure meds changed because of that.

I was on Lisinipril (sp) for high blood pressure and developed a dry cough. 

One day I woke up with a swollen tongue, went to emergency and he said that it

was Lisinipril, and asked if I had a dry cough also. Guess lots of things cause

dry coughs.

I call the dr's office yesterday and spoke with the nurse...she advised

that I probably have a fungal infection in my esophogas from the Gleevac and

prescribed Nystatin to take...starting to feel better already...so hopefully

that is all it is...hate this - I feel like I've become a hypochondriac since

every little pain sends me into a panic...
