Lottie, I totally agree with you 100%

I do not know if it is or ever will cause any harm, but I do know that I have

had 6 more years because of it (hopefully lots more) and for that I am forever

grateful

Dear ,

I cannot take a lowly aspirin because it gives me gastritis, and antibiotics

cause toxic poisoning to my stomach and intestines . Who knows what drinking

coffee and any caffeine drink does to our stomachs and nervous systems. You ask

what Gleevec is doing to our bodies, but my answer is it is keeping us alive.

When they find a cure, we will have the opportunity to recover from anything

caused by side effects. Meanwhile we have no choice. I give credit to Gleevec as

being a stepping stone for me, until other drugs were available. It turned out 2

others after Gleevec didn't work either, but SKI 606 did it for me. The majority

of members rely on Gleevec to keep them alive. I can see heads nodding in the

affirmative. Life is still good at 81, so you will be around for a long, long

time.

Dear Lottie

I too agree. All the medication I have been on for the 5 years has kept me

alive. That is why we trust our doctors to keep a close watch on all our

test results to see if we are causing any damage. So far so good!!! The

alternative is not very nice-is it??? So until they find a cure we continue

to do what they know is best for us. By biggest thing is know your own body

and know how it works.
