Guest guest
Hi Lottie  I have spoken to my doctor, she is 100% against it. She even wants me to take birth control pills, even though she says it SHOULDN'T interact with the Gleevec. I am not taking the pills but not jumping into a pregnancy either :-) There a a few women that I have found on line that have had healthy delivery's, just not to sure how comfortable I am getting of Gleveec ( My husband doesn't want me to get off Gleevec either ) So we are going to wait a little bit longer in hopes for a cure, more successful birth stories, or a surrogate.  Like the theme at my husband and I homecoming dance in 1997 " only time will tell "  Lottie, Thanks for reply to everyones post. I love this group, I have been part of for the last 6 years, and I have always felt like I have some one to talk to, that is going trew the same thing.  From: Lottie Duthu <lotajam@...> Subject: [ ] 's birthing " CML " < > Date: Wednesday, January 13, 2010, 11:22 PM  That was a fantastic story wrote, thanks for sharing it with us, . Notice she said she will save the epidural for the next time. Wow, what courage we can take from her. Have you talked to your doctor about your getting pregnant? We know now that is not impossible to have a healthy baby and mother at the same time. Good luck to you if you decide. That baby will have a lot of aunts and uncles right here. It sounds like you are playing with bit with fire, as all other forms of birth control are less effective. If you do end up wanting to pursue this, you might need to see a cml specialist who might be more comfortable dealing with a pregnancy than a local onc. Dr. Mauro at OHSU is 's doctor. Best wishes, C.
