What is Gleevec doing to our bodies????

Dear ,

I cannot take a lowly aspirin because it gives me gastritis, and

antibiotics cause toxic poisoning to my stomach and intestines . Who knows what

drinking coffee and any caffeine drink does to our stomachs and nervous systems.

You ask what Gleevec is doing to our bodies, but my answer is it is keeping us

alive. When they find a cure, we will have the opportunity to recover from

anything caused by side effects. Meanwhile we have no choice. I give credit to

Gleevec as being a stepping stone for me, until other drugs were available. It

turned out 2 others after Gleevec didn't work either, but SKI 606 did it for me.

The majority of members rely on Gleevec to keep them alive. I can see heads

nodding in the affirmative. Life is still good at 81, so you will be around for

a long, long time.
