What a great result! This reminds me of the excitement generated by STI571

(now Gleevec) in the early day when patients first tried the drug.

Thanks for sharing and pioneering.

I just got my 3 month results back from being on the Ariad study. Just some

background. Diagnosed in Dec 08, Gleevec and Sprycel didn't give me any

cytogenetic response, and minimal PCR. After 3 months on Sprycel, we ran the

mutation test and found that I had T315 mutation.

As luck had it, I had read Beth's comment about the trial, and we took a

leap of faith and managed to get enrolled at OHSU. I am on 60 mg still with

minimal side effects, although current dosage is 45 for newly enrollee's.

Here are my numbers after 3 months:

Metaphase Cytogenetic: Start of Trial: 17/20 Current: 0/20

Fish: Start of Trial: 112/200 Current: 0/200

qPCR: Start of Trial: 50% (is) Current: 0.4% (is)

That is a 2 log reduction in 3 months.

So I am officially in Complete Cytogenetic Response.

Zavie - Does that mean I qualify to get a number ? :)

Dear Hans,

That is awesome news! You are paving the way for the rest of us. I hope that

some day soon I can increase my dosage. There is no talk of it yet, and Im not

sure if its possible since I decreased due to low numbers. Time will tell.

Never loosing HOPE.

God Bless,

Jackie S.

Wow Hans--congratulations! This is great news. It sounds like Ariad

is the drug we were missing. I'm just so happy to hear this.

Best wishes,

Dorothy
