Hi Barbara, yes our 7 year old has gone from a sleek little man to a tubby

tum and his legs have filled out - I put it down to the amount of bread he

is now eating - so we are cutting his bread intake down and upping his

protein intake again - he does lots of running so he should drop it - not

much weight but he looks more filled out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cheers H

[ ] WEIGHT GAIN

Has anyone seen a weight gain in their child as a direct result of

going OFF the gfcf diet and adding enzymes?

Enzymes, in general, tend to regulate weight. So if someone is

underweight (like my younger son) he will gain, and if someone is

overweight (like my older son) he will lose weight or remain the

same - just not gain anymore. The metabolism is probably readjusting

at the same time.

My younger son had not gained weight in about 2 years and was very

thin. After starting Peptizyde he put on about 5 pounds in the first

3 months, and has gained about 5 more since then (we are in the 7th

month now), so this was very good for him. My older son ate

constantly, not because he was really hungry, but I think it was a

chewing need because his head hurt so much. When he started

Peptizyde, his cravings seemed to relax, he stopped badgering for

food every 5 minutes, and he is not overweight now and eats

regularly...although he still just likes to eat anyway, lol. So from

our experience, the enzymes did regulate the weight as each boy

needed.

Dear Listmates,

We started using enzymes (BOTH) in August, prior my son weighed the

same for 2 years also. He has gained 4 pounds. A pound a month, I'm

delighted. This is the only improvement from the use of enzymes, but

worth that alone. My son is mercury toxic, and as many of you know,

mercury inhibits the enzymes/digestion of food and the delivery of

nutrients. So obviously the enzymes are helping replace the damage

from mercury.

Just my 2 cents.

Althea, I hope it is an early spring for you.

Have you told your rheumatologist about your bronchitis? How long have

you had it? Since you are on Remicade, and it's not clearing up, I think

I would contact him if you haven't already.

I'll tell you where to go!

Angie, that is some of the wonderful effects of Prednisone. I was on

the med, and weaned myself off it. It caused me terible headaches,

insomnia, and weight gain.

Some benefit a great deal from the drug. I just didn't won't all

those side effects. How much Prednisone are you on? Tawny

I must be the odd one here. I have been on 5mg/day of Prednisone for 3 years and

I weigh less now than when I first started taking it. My biggest side affect is

my skin is like tissue paper and every little bump either bleeds or ends up with

massive bruising. As much as I would like to be off it, it does help me.

I managed to not gain weight while on prednisone by eating as few carbs

as I could manage. I have diabetes and was already limiting carbs, but

had to limit them even more. The prednisone seemed to know when I ate

carbs, LOL, and my blood glucose would go up more than usual. So

limiting the white carbs (potatoes, bread, pasta, etc.) might be worth

a try.

As far as sleep goes, I also have insomnia. Many nights I'm still lying

there awake at three o'clock. If you discover the secret, let me know,

too.

Insatiable appetite is a fairly common sign of yeast overgrowth. I've heard

some parents say they noticed that yeast seemed to become more of an obvious

issue after they began treating viral problems in their children. If your

child isn't taking an antifungal along with Valtrex, perhaps there is a need for

one.

I've noticed that we have two very divergent groups here regarding

breast implant illness and weight issues.

Some of the women who have been ill have either lost weight and can't

put it on, or they have gained alot of weight and can't get it off.

I sure don't understand the biological processes going on within each

body that would make some lose and others gain, but it may have

something to do with the thyroid gland, or an infection in the body

that causes weight loss.

I myself have suffered from a slight weight gain, more than likely due

to my Hashimoto's autoimmune thyroid disease, and difficulty keeping

it off. My weight gain has been around 10-15 lbs. I know others have

suffered more severe weight gain.

Hopefully more ladies will respond to this. I know our weight issues

can be very frustrating either way!

, are you referring to implant or explant? I lost weight after

implant (because I was sick from them) and gained weight after

explant. I'm actually above my normal winter weight right now, but I

think it's because I was trying to gain the weight I lost back, and

now I'm a little up in weight.

Rebacca . . .

I have a theory that some people store toxins in their

fatty tissues . . . it may be the way that the body

keeps toxins away from major organs.

A lot of women complain of unexplained weight gain, or

loss, after getting implants though.

I gained!

Rogene,

Your theory is correct, toxins are stored in fatty tissue. That is one of

the reasons it is so important to stay at an ideal weight.

Rogene,

I think you're on to something with that, because last summer I took

a multi-vitamin that was way too high in vitamin A, and the levels

were toxic for me, and the doctor said that it stores in the fat

cells and sometimes takes a while for that to work it's way out.

With everything else that was going on in my body because of the

implants, the vitamins just added insult to injury. I also recently

had a Lyme test because about a month after I got the implants, my

finger swelled up, the joint got sore, and it happened after I was

gardening. I had already been feeling poorly after the implant

surgery, so I wasn't sure if that particular symptom was because of

the implants or because I got bit by something. The test came

back " borderline " and I have to get it repeated. Also the doctor

checked for an antibody to silicone, which came back negative - but

I think in my case the chemicals that the implants were made of

probably made me sick, and I'm sure that not everyone who gets sick

because of implants ends up with antibodies to silicone. When I got

to visit her next week for my re-test of the Lyme, I'm going to ask

if she can test for Platinum - and you also mentioned some type of

infection to test for, and I can't remember what that was. Do you

remember?

Hi Sis,

That is true but for different reasons. Vitamin A is a fat soluble vitamin,

rather than water soluble. Because of this, excess intake of fat soluble

vitamins will be stored in the body's fat cells. Excess intake of water

soluble vitamins will simply be eliminated in urination.

Same here. I gained weight after I had them put in and right after explant I lost 10 pounds! Dr. Kolb has explained the rationale behind this as well. Most of the people I know that have implants (close to 30!!!!) have

gained some weight. Most of these people are aerobic instructors or

fanatical about working out, so their weight gain is not too

significant. Most of the people, including myself, looked better and

much healthier before implants. I am the only one I know here in NW

Arkansas that has had theirs removed, so I don't know about weight

loss after explantation. I know I have dropped back down to a size 4

after my explant.I gained about 10 pounds after implantation.

If this is true then I still have a lot of stored toxins. ;-(

I am still struggling on weight loss. Only lost 10 pounds in two months.

Pulling toxins out of fatty tissue is where an

infrared sauna excels! . . . Maybe someone has the

figures on the toxins in sweat generated by infrared

vs. regular sweating. They're impressive!
