Guest guest
Hi Molly, If you look at it as embracing a new lifestyle, it shouldn't seem as daunting. You're headed in a new, healthier direction. You have seen tremendous benefit already in weight loss and how you feel. You should celebrate and be happy, not be down about it. Kenda > Yes, I know. Guest guest
Kenda, No we don't have an ionizer . . . It's never smelled sweaty. Anywhere skin touches the wood, it's covered with a towel. If it appears sweat is going through towels, we add some more. . . Ours is in a covered porch - open to the air. That may be a factor, but I doubt it. I've heard some adverse remarks about using an ionizer indoors . . . I'm not sure I believe what I've heard, but before putting an ionizer in a unit where it's to be used while in it, I'd do some more checking. I have a portable room filtering system with an ionizer. I run the ionizer only when I'm not in the room. Hugs, Rogene
Guest guest
Thank you! We have ionizers in our home too. I keep the ozone down to a low level, otherwise I can feel it in my chest and I get fatigued. I have spoken to the rep for Eco Quest, the company that makes my air and water filtration devices, and they claim at low levels it is fine. Of course they're selling units so who knows. I don't think the ionizer is to be used in the sauna while it is on, I think it is to be sure no cooties grow in it. Kenda > Kenda, > > No we don't have an ionizer . . . It's never smelled > sweaty. Guest guest
, I didn't gain weight right away after implantation, in fact I lost. I became more confindent with my new form that I exercised and dieted more. I wanted to look really good. However, I think I became obsessed with my looks even more then I did with smaller boobs. I was developing an eating disorder until God showed me the error of my ways. Then in the past two years the weight started to pack on even though I stayed active. The weight started increasing one year before my muscle and joint pain did. Now, I am about 25 pounds heavier then my normal weight. I did loose 5 pounds after explant, without changing my diet or increasing my activities. I am hoping the better I feel the more I loose. As far as skin changes, I did notice dry patches and increased sensitiviy of my skin starting three years ago. I started getting rashes more and more and sometimes at the most inconvient times. I just thought I was getting older, and developing allergies. Now, I know it has everything to do with the implants. I use Welda Skin Food on my real dry areas and it give wonderful relief. I put in on my dry, itchy skin and get improvement with only one application. I hope you are doing well, LMark DeBolt <jdebolt@...> wrote: Does anyone know what the correlation between weight gain and breast implants is? Guest guest
Hi , Definitely there is a correlation between implants and weight gain. The chemicals in the implants seem to slow the metobolism down, possibly because they impact the thyroid. Even on the pro-implant sites, you see tons upon tons of women complainging of weight gain after getting implants. I've also read that skin changes go with the territory as well. Guest guest
I lost 10 lbs right after implant, and since explant I put it all back on, plus an additional 5. Soon I'll be working towards the happy medium, but my body always holds onto any weight in the winter months, and as soon as it warms up I lose it. Curious to see how that will be this year, though, since my body is so messed up from the implants. One thing I have noticed since explant, my digestive system is working much better. Guest guest
Not sure if it was from 8 months of prednisone or not, but I gained 25 lbs., at the end of those 8 months almost immediately and that was well after I had lost my baby weight from having twins and have not been able to get it off since. You know about the sores, but since implants I also have severely dry skin, mouth & eyes(and a private area, also). Cheryl
Guest guest
, Please don't be so hard on yourself! Stressing over everything will only make things worse! You'll begin seeing a big difference when your implants are out. At least KNOW you know why you've been sick AND the END is in sight! Guest guest
The skin on my face is REALLY dry this year and has dry patches that are getting worse, and my eyes...OMG I thought it was early menopause. lol I am carrying about 25 extra right now too (from baby weight) and even if I work really hard to lose some....it doesn't stay off. Its frustrating!! Guest guest
Dear Efrem, When I stopped Gleevec, I lost 40# right off the bat and I am still loosing. I now have medical anoxeria and can hardly eat anything. Some have claimed they continued to carry the fluid after getting off Gleevec. There is no pat answer, you may want to consult an endocrinologist to see if your glands are producing enough hormones, etc. I found I was lacking in thyroids and Vitamin D3. Too little thyroid hormone production can cause you to retain fluid and weight. There is no simple formula and no one size fits all. Good luck, Efrim. We hope you will share your progress with us. Guest guest
I just turned 30 : ( If you're having a flare sometimes inactivity is best. And if you're taking prednisone the weight gain cannot be stopped!!!! My car broke down and I was walking 2 miles home from work. Barely ate anything because I didn't feel good. Still gained weight. And the exercise... Let's just say my body wasn't happy about it. Fevers. Diarhea. HORRIBLE exhaustion. Worry about the weight gain once you're off the prednisone! And for me the only exercise that's tolerable is yoga or pilates since you're not torturing your joints. Candace No shadows to depress you Only joys to surround you Many friends to love you God himself to bless you These are my wishes for you, For today, tomorrow & everyday. Guest guest
Water aerobicis is the best exercise and the easiest on the joints that I have found. You can attack or do them as gently and easy as needed.  Good luck on finding something you can do. I gained a lot of weight at first but have leveled off now and not gaining but not losing either.   linda From: shanyka_else <shanyka_else@...> Subject: [ ] Weight Gain Date: Thursday, August 26, 2010, 5:41 PM  I know I'm not the only person with RA.  But no one I know has a clue of what I'm going through.  I was diagnosed with RA back in April of this year.  Never in my wildest dreams did I contemplate having such a debilitating condition.  I am a 30-yr old female.  No children, no husband, and barely into my career.  My life is supposed to be beginning yet I feel like it's ending.  I am on a combination of Prednisone and Leflunomide.  Being on Prednisone helps the acute pain (flare-ups).But being on it for the past few months, I've experienced a lot of side effects.  Weight gain, digestive issues, hypertension, and heart palpitations to name a few.  Yet, still I have pain in my shoulders, knees, biceps, elbows, ankles, wrists, toes, and fingers.  I believe that a lot of this has to do with my inactivity...adding to my weight gain...leading to more inactivity...and so forth.  How can I become more active while avoiding pain?  This weight gain can't be helping.
