Guest guest
Dear Phil, I started my day off right by reading your post. I'm sure most of us get tired of trying to explain CML in 20 words or less. LOL The first question I get asked, too is " Are you in remission " , believe it or not, mostly from doctors and nurses. I am usually taken aback by that question from a professional. I wonder if I should trust my care to them????????????? And, " Are you taking chemotherapy? " Both points are well taken, but you know it is going over their heads, because in some cases it took us years to learn what we know. Why bother to learn it if it's not in their job description? I love the T-shirt concept, or a cap. When I went to the pain specialist the other day, I got a T-shirt to do their advertising, it's cheaper than puting it on the back of a cab. Maybe the homeless shelter can use it. LOL After 5 minutes I am still chuckling over your methods of getting the word out Now if I can just get my congressman to unsubscribe me from all those daily emails. Hands & hearts, Lottie Duthu
Guest guest
Hi Lottie, Thinking about it further, you could get quite a nice T shirt design from one of the molecular structure diagrams out there of Imatinib binding to and blocking the ATP pocket of the BCR ABL. You then have something that doubles as either a funky piece of abstract art or a visual aid for lectures depending on your mood. Two odd socks, some scissors and a needle and thread would yield a nice analogy for the Philadelpia chromosome too. So what do we put on the hat? All the best Phil > > Dear Phil, > I started my day off right by reading your post. I'm sure most of us get tired of trying to explain CML in 20 words or less.
