Guest guest
I like the idea of a " commemorative " shirt for the picnic (nothing across my butt please though!!!). I don't think it would cost even $10 each to have them printed. It would be helpful to know how many of what size though there would be a lot left over. in GA t-shirts > I've been thinking about a t-shirt for some time now, but having been > a president of many clubs... etc in high school and in college, I > know the expense involved and the trouble with having a shirt > screened. > > However, my idea was to ask Mrs. Larice White to do a drawing of > her " Spirit Dancer " to be silk screened on the front of the shirt. > On the back of the shirt(or on the pocket if the design is to be put > on the back) it would read " 2nd Annual Mini Gastric Bypass Picnic, > Durham NC, 9/29/01 " Of course you could put the words on the front > or the back in a circle around the design. Guest guest
Generally, its about 5$ a shirt to have them printed. Guest guest
I think a light hearted to the point shirt would be cool. I've seen some great ideas like the spirit pin design on the front and a slogan on the back. aW Re: t-shirts That's it! Guest guest
Steve, I didn't think it was too feminine I can start looking for screenprinters locally if anyone is interested. We can do the ordering 1 of 2 ways. 1. Everyone pay up front, the exact amount that each t-shirt costs and I can bring them to the picnic OR 2. We can set a price... it still requires some pre-ordering because I have to have money to purchase the t-shirts with. I can purchase more t-shirts this way so that people who aren't on the list, but are coming to the picnic will have the opportunity to buy a t-shirt. One of 2 things can happen doing it this way... 1. we make a profit (where would this go?) 2. we're stuck with lots of extra t-shirts. But, if we are going to get this done, it needs to be done quick. It may even be too late to do it. I'll have the name of a screenprinter and some prices on Monday. let me know.. manda > >>The color in my mind is a cranberry, a little litter and more >>pink > though. > > I like the Spirit Dancer idea, but could we please not make the color too > feminine? Guest guest
Just some suggestions that I have. I don't think that I will be heading up this project because I am having some flashbacks from college. It was impossible in college to get a group of 30-200 to agree on a design, I don't even want to think about doing this one.... But here are some things to remember: Sleeve printing is expensive. Pick front or back, printing both is expensive (small printing on front where pocket would be is cheaper) but if you keep it all to one side, the cheaper it is going to be. If they aren't dated, I really don't see the point in a " picnic " shirt. Does everyone want a " picnic " shirt or just an " MGB " shirt. Simple is better. My advice would be this: Designate a group of people, no more than 3-4 people, one being the artist that does the artwork, and the other being the person who actually sits down with the screen printers to do it. Trust their judgement, and leave it to them. And, most importantly, be happy that you have a t-shirt. It is impossible that there is not going to be a person who will think " well, I thought such and such was a better idea " . Manda-off my soapbox now. > > > I've been thinking about a t-shirt for some time now, but > having > > been > > > a president of many clubs... etc in high school and in college, > I > > > know the expense involved and the trouble with having a shirt > > > screened. > > > > > > However, my idea was to ask Mrs. Larice White to do a drawing > of > > > her " Spirit Dancer " to be silk screened on the front of the > shirt. > > > On the back of the shirt(or on the pocket if the design is to > be > > put > > > on the back) it would read " 2nd Annual Mini Gastric Bypass > Picnic, > > > Durham NC, 9/29/01 " Of course you could put the words on the > front > > > or the back in a circle around the design. Guest guest
I would like to see a more simple design - picnic oriented. If someone wants to do a " MGB " shirt that could be done later. I would prefer something like " MGB 2nd annual picnic - 2001 " maybe with the spirit dancer in the middle. I would prefer NO pocket. When I dealt with t-shirts in the past once the design was finished you could order whatever kind of shirts he had in stock (therefore people could have a choice possible of short sleeve or long sleeve). I would prefer a neutral color (white, gray, etc.) so that I could wear it with jeans or my work out stuff. I would think a design needs to be picked by 09/01 with deadline for ordering maybe 09/15 (and payment) with shirts being picked up obviously at the picnic. Pricing for cost of shirts I think is the most appropriate (lots of people are on tight budgets these days - me included!) in GA Re: t-shirts > Just some suggestions that I have. Guest guest
I've never understood the point of " just words " on a t-shirt. I love simple, but too simple shows no creativity, and in my humble opinion, looks generic. Not to leave the guys out here, and please don't take this personally, but there is such a small number of guys on the list... well, you know what I'm saying. It is like I said, it is impossible to please everyone. I don't think the Spirit Dancer to be too feminine. Guys? Perhaps our resident artist has an idea for a non-gender biased design for the shirt? Anyone, we don't have anyone that is offering to do it, so the discussion really is premature. > Just a thought --- I like the spirit dancer (thanks Larice) but the guys might not like her on their chest. Maybe we should stick with just words - which would actually end up being cheaper because they could be one color shirts then. > > in GA > > > >

Guest guest
Larice ---- Are you out there??? How many colors is the design of the spirit dancer and could you reproduce her in maybe 2 colors in about a 6 inch height. If so the shirts may not be too expense and we could put the " words " top and bottom therefore still keeping the shirt single-sided. I will check locally and see what pricing is in my area and get back to the group. in GA T-shirts > > > Just a thought --- I like the spirit dancer (thanks Larice) but the guys > might not like her on their chest. Guest guest
If you do it in lowercase Greek letters it will look even cooler. In Capitals, the Mu and the Beta are just the standard Latin letters M and B. Capital Gamma I'm not sure about. I bet le knows all this stuff BACKWARDS. Pax, Steve Re: T-shirts That works for me!
