Guest guest
Thank you Pat, for your referral to your web site. I didn't know it existed, but there must be millions of sites I don't know about. This is a wonderful website to go for information if you are on a liferaft and don't know what direction you are going in. You are a surivivor, no only of breast cancer, but of life. Now you are turning it all around by being a lifeline to cancer patients in need of information. Bless you for being there for the uninformed. Guest guest
Thank you Lottie. I started a CaringBridge site shortly after I got out of the hospital, and the wonderful people at www.EmpowHer.com saw my blog posts and asked me if I would work for them as their Cancer Guide, and also handle some other responsibilities. I have had the privilege of assisting people with lung cancer, breast cancer, leukemia, Hodgkin's lymphoma and many other forms of cancer. One thing we all learn quickly is that while others can empathize with us they simply are not in our " new normal " world and don't think the same way. We have much to offer each other. I learn a lot from the questions newbies ask in this group, and from the experience shared by people there before us, like you and Zavie. I also wanted to make everyone aware of another great web site, which is www.patientpower.info. I reviewed it and found it very credible and helpful before I realized that the founder, Schorr, is a journalist I worked with 20 years ago in LA. is a 13-year ALL survivor, so while his site covers all medical conditions he has a special personal interest in leukemia to the point that he does things like video reports from ASH at his own personal expense. and I have enjoyed reconnecting, and I expect we will be doing some work together in the future to help others through the Internet. Also, 's site gave me another idea for a t-shirt. He has one which promotes " patient power " and not illness. I like the idea that we have knowledge that we can share to help others, just as we've helped ourselves. That can be found at http://www.patientpower.info/store/tshirt.asp Just a thought, I like the other ideas too, and the spirit of this group. Take care, Pat Elliott Phoenix, AZ > > Thank you Pat, for your referral to your web site. I didn't know it existed, but there must be millions of sites I don't know about. Guest guest
Sorry - didn't catch my error - Schorr is a CLL survivor, not ALL.
