Dear Lottie,

Thank you for giving me a smile!!! I wondered the same thing as to why they

needed me to cart those empty containers through security at airports and the

hassle of taking up space in my already stuffed suitcases.  I like your

response the them.  That is so funny. Your sense of humor never ceases to amuse

me.

Have a great day, even though you have some struggles to deal with.

Merry Christmas,

Jackie S.

Dear Jackie,

I am so glad to hear your good news. It's been a long wait for you, too. I

still remember the first time I saw you, standing in the waiting room of the

leukemia department. You brought us to your apartment once to show us how nice

it was. I think you must have stayed in several apartments, just as we did. I

remember waiting for the shuttle bus and wondered why I needed to carry a bunch

of empty bottles, so I left them in the garbage. The research nurse was in

shock when I told her I didn't have them. She wanted me to go back to the

apartment to get them. I told her the garbage had already been picked up. She

said, " What will I tell Bristol Myers? " I said, " You'll think of something. "

No one ever mentioned it again. I haven't figured out a real good reason why

they need the empty bottles, are they suddenly going green?

Merry Christmas, friend from the north country,

Lottie

Hi Lottie,

That seems to be a universal requirement in a drug trial...turn in the empty

bottles. I think that is how the drug company proves/gets credit for providing

the free drug and shows how much drug has been tested, etc. Also, that you are

not out their re-selling the drug! I would not be surprised if it wasn't an FDA

requirement.

About the interferon....I was only on it for 3 lousy months and I was off it as

much as I was on it (part of triple therapy). I don't think it revved up my

immune system any.

I am sorry to hear about your son ill and suffering. I hope the New Year brings

good health to you and all your family.

Merry Christmas to you,

C.
