Guest guest
I have one(nodule) on my left elbow. It is like a lump that you can move around and sticks out when I straighten my arm. Does not really hurt. Sometimes goes down and gets a bit smaller. I find myself playing with it at times just cause it's there! Guest guest
This is pretty much all I know about nodules: As part of the rheumatoid process, firm, non-tender, subcutaneous nodules develop in about 25% of rheumatoid arthritis patients. These are commonly found at pressure points like the elbow, back of the forearm, and metacarpophalangeal joint. Nodules usually occur in chronic active cases of RA, and are commonly associated with more joint deformity and serious extra-articular manifestations including lungs, eyes, and blood vessels. Nodules may vary in size during the course of the disease process, according to Federman, M.D., aka Dr. Bones. s Hopkins claims complications of rheumatoid nodules include:PainLimited joint mobilityNeuropathyUlcerationFistula formationInfection Surgical removal is an option, but nodules tend to reoccur in as little as a few months when they are present over an area of repeated trauma. Guest guest
If you have joint damage, that means the joint is deformed and you'll have limited range of movement. In your hands and feet, ulnar drift shows up as the fingers and toes "moving to the side" and stiffening. It's distinctive and you'll know if that happens. I have complete range of movement too, but with lots of pain. My joints ache all the time, too, and sometimes certain joints ache more than others, when they're inflamed(hips, knees, wrists, shoulders, etc). But there's no real damage unless the joint is deformed and your movement is limited. ----- Original Message ----- From: NELLIESTAR@...
