Hey every one!!

I have questions about Blake's sub-Q

Blake is getting his last Vivaglobin sub-q treatment on Tuesday(this

week). Next Monday he will get his 1st does of Gammagard S/D. via sub-

Q. He will be doing 5 grams on Monday(2/18) that is 50cc's. Over 4

sites. Then on Saturday(2/23) he gets 10 grams. That is 100 cc's. He

will do it in 7 sites.

Has anyone done Gammagard S/D in sub-q? What is the max sites you do

& is it unusual to do 7 sites in one setting? i have tried to

explain to Blake that it will probably go faster with 7 than it will

wit 4. I don't want to mis lead him. but I was told by his

immunologist that this was the protocol given to him by the Dr. @

Baxter. He was successful with 7 other children in Fla. & even went

to the FDA to make a " mediacal Plea of Mercy " & it was given.

Also the ones using Gammagard, what are the side effects? Does Blake

have a chance of getting aseptic Menegitis? Dr. S. & our Immuno both

had Caremark delivering 2 epi pens to keep on hand, WHY? he was not

given epi pens with the VIVA.

We are suppose to get a deliver tomorrow. Do I need to purchase a

small fridge(the kind you keep in dorm rooms. If so where can I get

the best deal? Sorry for all the ???'s. Blake has only been doing

sub-q since last Aug. So we are not really " old school " but, we are

not really new at this either.....just a bunch of ???'s to ease my

mind & making sure we are doing what is best(it was either go sub-Q

with the gamma or go back to IV.....NOT the best choice with Blake's

blood clotting issues!!)

Any advice or info gratefully appreciated!!!
