Guest guest
Thank you and Tracey for the information on citrus and Gleevec. I do remember hearing about the study with Vitamin C supplements that Tracey linked, but I did not generalize that to mean that we shouldn't have citrus (oranges, tangerines) within two hours of taking Gleevec. Well, I certainly have not been following that recommendation! So I will make sure that I don't eat oranges/tangerines (the only citrus fruits I generally have) within two hours of taking Gleevec. Thank you!! Guest guest
I believe the study indicates that it isn't just citrus. It's vitamin C. As all multi-vitamins contain a good bit of vitamin C, it would seem we have to stay away from that, too.
Guest guest
Hi everyone, I just emailed Carolyn, Dr. Druker's research nurse. Here is the scoop. It is OK to eat lemons and regular oranges at any time. It is NOT OK to eat grapefruit/grapefruit juice, Seville oranges, or pomegranate juice. Carolyn did say that a few pomegranate seeds would be OK.
