Guest guest
Dear Bobby, I know what you mean about scar tissue from all the BMA's. You and I parallel on so many points. We are running neck and neck on the length of time we have had CML, our ages are only a year apart and we have both been on many trials. Listen my friend, I would be glad if they put me to sleep for a BMA. I would enjoy sleeping the rest of the day. LOL It took you 9 years to get to CCR, but it took me over 14 years, so I am running far behind you on that score. We are evidently at a good place that we have survived this long without having reached PCRU, so after all these years yearning for it, we find that it is not really necessary to remain CHR or CCR. As always, I wish you well with whatever trial you are in, but it seems Ariad is the right fit for you and SKI is right for me for the time being. Not sure what they will do about the PE. Nothing suceeds like success as the old saying, so I hope they don't take me off of SKI like they did with Sprycel. We both had PE's on Sprycel, another parallel. Guest guest
Right you are, Lottie. It's important to reach those low numbers, but not really life threatening, or you and I would be long gone. No one in the world would even know I had CML if i did not tell them, my life is really no different than when I didn't have it. We are old war horses, tough as leather, and it seems it will take more than CML to take us down!! And fortunately we have not had to undergo a BMT. My hats off to all of those who have had to have one, it's a courageous task to undertake. I have always been thankful that I am too old to even think of one, as I am chicken. We just keep chugging along Lottie, fortunately for the better, with our lumpy , bumpy scarred bones, and attitudes that just won't quit! love, Bobby a ( Bobby ) Doyle, dob 12/17/29 Brecksville, Ohio, USA DX 5/1995 Interferon 9 weeks/Hydroxyurea 5 years o2/2000 to 06/2002 Gleevec trial, OHSU 06/2002 Gleevec/Trisenox Trial, OHSU 06/2003 Gleevec/Zarnestra Trial, OHSU 04/2004 Sprycel Trial, MDACC, CCR in 10 months 04/2008 XL228 Trial, U of Mich.
