One correction:

Someone asked if a thoracentesis is when they stick a needle in your lung

to draw out fluid. The needle doesn't go into the lung. It goes into the

pleural cavity which surrounds the lung. I have had many thoracentesis

procedures for pleural effusions when I had ovarian cancer 15 years ago. They

were not painful, but certainly not something I'd ever want to do again.
