My favorite is called " genmai cha " and gets it's unique flavor from being made with roasted rice. Other types include " sencha, " " Gunpowder (Temple of Heaven) " and the wonderful but very expensive " Gyokuro Asahai. " You can get most of these from the large Japanese concern called Yamamotoyama. Guest guest
Allayne, I have also read the same info about green tea. I since have turned to green tea. There are a lot of different kinds out there. I have found the best ones to be mixed with mint or Jasmine. They say that you need to have a min of 2 cups to get the best effects. You can actually use tea bags and steamed leaves twice so it makes it easier. I prefer the fresh steamed tea. If you have a Peets Coffee where you are they have this great 2 cup steamer pot that is so easy to use and produces wonderful tea. Guest guest
Hi All, I am a great advocate of Green Teas. There are lots of health benefits associated with this type of tea. I used to work for a tea and coffee merchant here in the UK. I learnt a lot from my time with the company. You might think that you can get the same benefits from normal teas, however regular teas, or black teas are processed and a lot of the nutrients are removed. You can buy Green Teas in the leaf form or in tea bags. If any of you decide to try it (which I recomend)and the taste isn't as pleasant as you might have hoped, you can get varieties with jasmin or lemon in them. The lemon is my favourite as it is light and refreshing. It is a very relaxing drink and can be good for you! Hope you all at least give it a go. If it may help arthritis it can't do any harm to try it. Guest guest
> > Hi All, > > > > I am a great advocate of Green Teas. Hey, here. I just had my first cup of green tea today and let me tell you I am a believer. I have had terrible pain in my wrists, so much so that I couldn't turn on my car ignition with my right hand. Well today after one cup of this stuff, I had no pain. WOW!! I just thank you all for turning me on to this because i have had so much trouble with the anti-inflammatories due to my IBS. i just hope it keeps working. If it does it is definitely an answer to prayer. Now I do wonder if there is any downside, whether you can drink too much. I did have to rush to the bathroom after drinking a cup and I felt sort of jittery but maybe that was caffeine as I don't drink caffeine. Anyhow, had to sing praises and share the good feelings! On the other hand I have also read of many benefits from drinking it.
Guest guest
I just bought some green tea, but haven't used it yet. I also can't handle caffeine so I bought the decaffeinated kind. I just bought Lipton's, but my sister in law loves the Celestial Seasons Green Tea and mandarin orange. Guest guest
Green tea is a very good antioxidant but it tastes absolutely awful. But you can get it in capsule form if you don't like the tea. sorry-that's all I can tell you but try here: http://www.japanesegreenteaonline.com/harvesting.htm regards Julea --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free by AVG so it wasn't me ! Guest guest
The green tea with Lemon and Ginseng is pretty good too with sweetener of your choice.
Guest guest
Try Lipton's decaf green tea--tastes GREAT! I add a little powdered vanilla to mine. You can also add a little honey or sugar; if you don't make it too strong, it tastes fine without a sweetener. Wal-Mart and grocery stores carry it (perhaps Target does, as well). Guest guest
it has a small amount of caffeine, much less than coffee. I would get organic, not lipton C Ramona <ramona@...> wrote: I have understood that green tea has caffeine and caffeine is to be avoided...? In general, yes, but caffeine's synergistic w/green tea, so I would choose regular (organic) green tea

Guest guest
I have read that South African Rooibos ( " red bush " ) tea has much more anti-oxidant power than green tea. Might be worth a try, as it is delicious and caffeine-free. We love it, as do friends we give it to. Great with maple syrup for sweetening! Blessings! Arthur www.bestzapper.com green tea Green Tea strongly protects prostate from cancer Prostatic Intraepithelial Neoplasia (or PIN) is a precancerous condition of the prostate. It is divided into low grade and high grade. High grade PIN frequently converts into prostate cancer at about a rate of 35% and there is no treatment given until the development of full blown cancer. PIN affects about 24% of men under 50 according to autopsy research. 62 Men with high grade PIN were given either a placebo (30 men) or a high potency Green Tea Extract where they consumed 600mg of Green Tea Catechins per day for one year. After one year only 1 man out of the 32 taking Green Tea Extract developed prostate cancer (3%) whereas 9 out of the 20 men on placebo developed prostate cancer (30%). The study was presented this week at the gathering of the American Association for Cancer Research in Anaheim, California. The researchers feel they may obtain good results in the future when they study the protective effects of Green Tea Extract on both breast and colon cancer.
