Guest guest
I don't think I'd be too concerned about that. We are all somewhat different in how we react to the disease and the medication. I've had low platelet counts while some have high counts. My wbc have always been low on Gleevec, after six years they finally edged up to the low normal range. What are your RT-PCR readings like? Guest guest
My blood count pretty well stays in the 4.6 - 5.0 range. I have been on Gleevec a year and a half. Donna > > Hello to all. Guest guest
hi , in the beginning my blood counts went down to 2 and 3 and were fluctuating between 3 and 5. Now after 3 years they stay around 6 and 7,but they 'v been at 9 twice. Esther > > Hello to all. I was wondering how blood count's are for other's on Gleevec. I have been on Gleevec since june. Guest guest
Hi : My counts only went up when I first started on my Gleevec back in 2000, but since then they are always in the 3 and 4 range. I am also very anemic. What does your doctor say about that big jump? He will probably want to repeat it to be sure its right. I would wait to see what your doctor says. A. > > > > Hello to all. Guest guest
It sounds like (I'm not a doctor, but I play one online... LOL) you have some infection going on that's unrelated to the CML. I just had a post-op infection that sent my wbc counts up to about 7,000. Of course it cleared up after the course of antibiotics. Guest guest
That was my first thought too. The doctor said I had a kidney infection and put me on cipro for ten days which cleared it up. Then a week later they gave me zithromax for a sore throat.Went back after finishing that and white cell count was 9.6 the highest it has been since starting gleevec. I would think that after 3 weeks of antibiotics it would have decrease not increased. you may not be a doc but after you should get an m.d for being a cml patient. Most of the people in this group know more about cml than alot of doctors. ________________________________ From: Troxel <richard.troxel@...> Sent: Mon, November 30, 2009 1:28:44 PM Subject: Re: [ ] Blood counts?
