Guest guest
Anyone else on it? Been on it? How about someone to talk to about how I am feeling? (Overwhelmed it is actually happening.) Anyone ever go on a study that didn't really need to be there? I mean, I think I would feel different it the medication I was on wasn't working - and I needed to go on something else. This study is just adding a crappy medicine to an already crappy medicine to hopefully bring about a 'cure'. What was I thinking?? As much as anyone here - I want a cure!! I just got my bmb date of March 1st today. About a week later I'll start the medication (if that is still the plan.) Thanks guys! Guest guest
Tammy, I did this for 1 1/2 years. Yes it was crappy, but I have not been PCR positive since. Doctore are still too scared on taking me off everthing, but I'm working on them. P.S. I was on interferon for 1 1/2 years before Gleevec was approved. Guest guest
I also became PCRU on a combo of Gleevec and Interferon, but my study was approved for 1 year only and I reached PCRU after 10.5 months and they took me off Interferon almost right away, so after 7 weeks, I lost my PCRU. I believe that if I could stay on Gleevec + Interferon for a longer time, then maybe discountinue Gleevec and remain on Interferon for 3 - 5 more months, maybe I would be PCRU until now. Who knows... p.s. I tolerated Interferon very well. I was really lucky! My body loved it. I lost weight, almost all that I gained on Gleevec... I wish I can be back on Gleevec and Interferon...
