Guest guest
Just returned from Houston. Saw Dr. Jabbur - was a little disapointed as I thought I would be able to have a longer discussion with him. Talked with his nurse longer than I did him. With all they have going on, guess I was expecting a lot of information I hadn't heard before. Anyway, BMB results hopefully next week. Dr. jumped me right up to Tasgina (was suprised) because he said it was the only one that didn't have the fatigue side effects as Gleevec. Kind of scary that I can't take until after an EKG to use for base line as this treatment seems to be causing heart problems???? He spoke with my local oncologist about what he wanted to do and would work with her. She doesn't have EKG?? had to go to local doctor. Interested to see if she will work with him or not. Not sure why they didn't go ahead and do it at MD . I know this is suppose to be a great facility, so I'll wait and see how the conversation of my BMB test goes. Maybe my expectations were too high. As for the T Shirts. I thought we could have some fun with members making design suggestions on paper and then I'd post for everyone to vote on. I can take a image someone wants to handdraw on paper and generate to digital design. DEADLINE TO INPUT - FEB 1. Guest guest
Hi Barbara, I too am a patient under Dr. Jabbour.  I've seen him a couple times now and the visits were pretty well the same each time.  Quick.  However I was pleased each time that he took the time to explain himself multiple times and found a way to relate the info to me when I didn't understand something.                             Another thing I liked is that he took the time at the end to make sure I didn't have any further questions before he left.  Kay, his nurse has been very quick & amp; responsive to answer my emails when I have questions also.  I was happy with my visits there, but I'm still new to the CML game, so if anyone knows of things that some docs don't do, that could make an experience better, please share. Thanks to everyone in the group!
