Guest guest
OK, I talked to my trial nurse today. My marrow pcr is 0.06. So it has gone slightly up again. But she said the pcr of the blood is.0000. I am happy as long as I am ccr, but am curious as to the difference in the two. Any help there? She said the fish has not come back yet, and was surprised when I told her I heard some drs don't even do fish anymore. Was I wrong? I am at this moment waiting the arrival of my second great grand son. I have many step great grand children, but only one other blood great grand child. Michele is not quite 21, has worked full time as a hair dresser up until today and goes to college full time. Will keep you posted, Bobby ________________________ Hi Bobby.....Gee Gee, Congrats on the new baby.....great grandchildren are proof that you have been around the block a time or two! I think that marrow pcr is usually a bit larger than blood pcr...which is why you usually stay with one of them and don't compare. As for the increase, I think you are just seeing a normal variation that occurs when you are not a solid zero. Dr. Druker has not done FISH as far as I know for a long time...which is why I did not think it was used any more. FISH is not so highly accurate, and has the false positives......and now that pcr testing is so easy to get and probably more accurate, he relies on that. Bobby, I don't always keep up....are you bald at the moment! at least you have a hairdresser in the family that can work with your 'do' as you let it grow back in. Any photos? C. Guest guest
Thanks for the congrats everyone! Hi , I am not bald YET! I am having a bit of a communication issue with the powers that be that organized this fund raiser, partly due to someone not answering a voice mail or two for almost a week, and partly because when I sent them a letter asking for more info on it, I forgot to put postage on it, so things are going real slow. But I am lining up people to either shave their head, or their beard, or girls to dye their hair., I thought when the weather broke it would be a good time for a " hair raising, colorful bash " and have given thought to having grandson Don video it and put it on You Tube. We'll see about that, but I will send you guys a pic of the old bald headed granny as soon as I do it! Actually, I have two grand daughters, both beauticians, and will most definitely get them involved. Guest guest
and Bobby, Dr. Druker did a FISH test for me 6 months ago at my one year bone marrow test. Not sure why...maybe because at the same time he tested for Gleevec levels --- I'll ask Carolyn and let you know.
