Guest guest
I saw this mentioned in another post. I'd love more info. How long does it need to be on before the stick? We're also with Accredo, and LMX cream is making my boys' sensory issues insane. Honestly peeiing it and the tegaderm off before the stick is the most traumatic part of SubQ day. How easily does the patch come off? Thanks!!!
Guest guest
When we used tegaderm and EMLA, I would crumple the corners and not use the entire surface area. (LMX did not work for my kiddo.) Now we use the clearview needle sets: http://www.norfolkmedical.com/clearview%20sets.html They include adhesive that looks identical to tegaderm but comes off much easier. Also, we use hypafix tape (little tiny 1/2 inch by 3 inch pieces) on top of the sites (in an " X " formation) and it comes off super easy with a little adhesive remover. Let us know what you think of synera (sp?) if you try it. Thanks, dani's mom, 6, CVID Lidocaine patch? I saw this mentioned in another post. I'd love more info. Guest guest
--- another good option to the tegaderm is Glad press and seal wrap. I know that sounds goofy.....but once our nurses switched to using that, my sensory kids had MUCH less problems. They keep it in the infusion room for extra sensitive kids:) valarie In , " the4quintons " <4quintons@...> wrote: > > I saw this mentioned in another post. I'd love more info. Guest guest
Hi , The package states to apply the patch for 20 minutes..... this worked for us...usually with EMLA or LMX cream, it takes us a full hour to numb up. Oddly enough, Matty doesn't mind the tegaderms... it's the slimy feel of the cream that drives his sensory stuff insane! The patches are pretty thick and are therefore easier to grab than the tegaderms, but they are super sticky. I didn't have any trouble getting them off. I'm not sure how old your little one is, (Matty is 3) but I also put a small sticker on the patch (his favorite Lightening McQueen from the " Cars " movie) and called them " magic stickers " . He did not complain the entire 20 minutes, or when I removed them. He said " Queen made boo-boo no hurt " after the needles went in Finally, success! In case anyone else missed it, here is the information again on the patches we got.... The patches we got are called: SYNERA (lidocaine 70 mg/tetracaine 70 mg) topical patch, by ENDO Pharmaceuticals. For a box of 1- the order # on the box is NDC 63481-864-10, mom to 3 with CVID: (almost 9), (6), and Matty (3) http://www.teamhope.info/http://foxfamilypidd.bravehost.com/ EMAILING FOR THE GREATER GOODJoin me
Guest guest
Thanks. My son also has SI Dysfunction alos so it is huge for him with the emla. He would rather have the poke but complains and often has little panic attacks even though he is 12. So I would love to have them on the days he just cannot do it. BARBIE Re: Lidocaine Patch?
