Help with getting copies of my child's records...

Does anyone know any legal stuff that will help me obtain my child's records

from the

pediatrician? My son has been at CHOP over and over in the past 4weeks and we

continue to

see about 6 different specialists down there this month. My ped has transferred

records to

CHOP (all appropriate departments) but I want a copy for our records b/c I want

to be

informed when going to these multiple appointments. I have been told by my ped

that it will

cost us ONE HUNDRED dollars (yes, $100) to obtain a copy of the entire file. If

we want just

notes and no labs, it will cost us $50. This is after they went through his

chart and counted

up how many pages they would have to copy. We tried to explain to them that

this would

cause a financial hardship and was there anything they could work out with us.

was " no. " I am going to look into JCHO's regs but was wondering if anyone could

spare me

some time in reseraching if they've already been this route. I really don't

have the energy w/

everything that's been going and with my son AND being 8months pregnant. Why

does

everything have to be a fight, sometimes? Thanks in advance for any
