Guest guest
> > Last week, Mc posted a timely article on how and when to change doctors. I was in the process of changing mine and saw my new local oncologist for the first time. Not only did he apologize for the way I was treated by the other doctor, he promised that it would never happen under his watch. Two days later he called to tell me that my creatinine serum level was 2.3. Last June it was l.6 and in July it was 1.9. He also informed me that my potassium was too high and that I should stop eating bananas. I was wondering if there was a connection between the two. ___________________________ Hi Lottie, It sounds like you have new doctor who will stay on top of things...you deserve this. I can't tell you anything really about creatinine levels,etc.......but bananas do have potassium (and people purposely eat them for that when they are on a diuretic). Other high potassium food are potatoes and avocados. I am trying to eat potassium foods so that I don't have to take a potassium pill with my Lasix, but we do periodic chemistries. I hope you will get to the bottom of any problems you are having with blood pressure meds, etc. Let us know what you find out. Wishing you wellness, C. Guest guest
My husband had to take the one time medication for high potassium. I didn't really get a lot of the details from him but it cleans out your system. I don't think it was a lot of fun, but it did get the job done. My husband is a diabetic and ended up having a kidney transplant so they watched his levels constantly before and since the transplant. I believe the high potassium levels are hard on the heart, but I could be remembering incorrectly. > > > > Last week, Mc posted a timely article on how and when to change doctors.
