Guest guest
WOW! I WISH my SIL was half as conscientious as that. She is constantly bringing sick kids over...to the point of pulling over to give Tylenol 45 mins B$ she drops them off to go to the beach! LAura catholicmomof3@...: catholicmomof3@...: Tue, 24 Jun 2008 12:54:48 -0400Subject: MRSA question I have a question for you-we are going to visit Chris' aunt and uncle inBaltimore over the 4th & we just received an email (see below so that Idon't have to re-type it)It should be safe for and ph to stay in the room where the niecewas since it was disinfected, right? We have hospital grade hand sanitizerthat we can use (effective against MRSA). T works and teaches at s Hopkins, so I feel like if he says it is cleanenough, it should be..but wanted to check with the doctors first, ofcourse.. Given that ph has had cellulitis 10 times and only 3 or4 times... I have emailed a few of the boys' doctors to check. His aunt and uncle areso nice that they even offered to pay for a hotel if we don't want to stayat their house. What do you guys think? Anyone have experience with this?Peace be with you, PattieIf things go well let's rejoice, blessing God, who makes them prosper. Andif they go wrong? Let's rejoice, blessing God, who allows us to share in thesweetness of His Cross.-- St maria EscrivaThe second week of June T's 16-year-old niece was visiting with us. Shearrived with what she thought was an insect bite, but didn't tell me aboutit till it got painful. I took her to our doctor immediately, the daybefore she left, the 9th, and the culture came back positive for MRSA. Fromwhat I understand, she had pretty much healed by the time she got home. However, of course, I have totally disinfected/cleaned/thrown out much ofwhat I could imagine she would have come in contact with, including havingthe carpet and sofa professionally cleaned, cleaning all knobs and switches, and disinfecting all bathroom surfaces 3 times thus far. I feel secure thatI have done as good a job as I could to prevent any spread. However, becauseof and ph's compromised immune systems I feel obligated to let youknow. I am not trying to freak you out, but want to be honest with you. I am sureyou are better versed on this issue then I am. T feels pretty sure that withall my scrubbing and disinfecting we are probably cleaner than mosthospitals. But again, I feel like it's a decision you need to make.[Non-text portions of this message have been removed] _________________________________________________________________ The other season of giving begins 6/24/08. Guest guest
Thanks! Our hem said it should be okay, too. Peace be with you, Pattie Understanding is the reward of faith. Therefore, don't seek to understand so that you may believe, but believe so that you may understand. -- St Augustine Patti- Krisitin recently baby sat for a child who had MRSA- her doctor said it was ok as long as the baby who had the MRSA did not have any open sores or wounds--he did emphasize that good hand washing is the key-- Sue Petrelli mom to 16 yr old w CVID
