Guest guest
Hi , do you go to Dr. Rappaport at university of land, is that were you got the bad BMB.I also take aleve i think that works best too. Is ativan the same as lorazapan? > > Hi All, > > I've been reading all the bone & joint pain posts and it seems no one noticed my earlier post about how I solved my bone pain problem on 800 mg Gleevec with Ativan. It is a tranquilizer but it DOES work for bone pain in a fairly low dose. It is not addictive. I never had any problems at all with it. I only had to take an Ativan IV once when the pain was literally unbearable. Other than that I just took tabs as needed. > > Also, instead of those old stand-bys Tylenol and Ibuprofen which some of you are hesitant to take, I recommend Aleve. I have some pain now because of a bone marrow test gone bad seveal years ago. I take two Aleve in the morning and two at night and don't have any pain at all. > > I wouldn't make these recommendations if they didn't work for me. > \ > > Virginia > >
Guest guest
Hi there, Yes, I do go to Dr. Rappaport but it was a bad BMB from his nurse practitioner on top of one that had been given to me at town University awhile back. It was the combination of two inuries. Yes, Ativan and lorazepam are the same thing. I know they say there's a possibility of psychological or even physical dependency. I did not have that problem and easily gave up the drug once the pain had disappeared when I stopped taking Gleevec. Aleve seems to me to be a really good option since a lot of people don't want to take Tylenol or Ibuprofen. Dr. Rappaport knows I take it and there's no contraindication on Sprycel. Guest guest
Hi Esther, I went to the Univ of Md because they had an opening in the Sprycel clinical trial and it was about to close soon after I lost response to Gleevec. Are you on the Sprycel trial? Or do you go as a regular patient to Dr. Rappoport. I like him very much. As a matter of fact, before I stopped getting BMB's it was Dr. R who gave me BMB's in my sternum because my hips are so shot. Guest guest
I think you made a good decision, Esther. Dr. R sees so many CML patients in every stage of the disease. I've been going to Univ of Md since early 2004 and even though I live in Northern Virginia I don't mind the drive to Baltimore every 3 months because I get very good care.
