Guest guest
, Wondering if you have any hints for me regarding . He complains of non specific abdominal pain almost daily. Weight is right at 40.5 to 41 pounds which has now dropped from 45th percentile to 25th percentile. We are still using miralax daily with usually one good BM...but some days he has a ton..... He just doesn't really want to eat anymore....then will eat one good meal a day some days. Not sure what to do or go back to supplementing with Pediasure...I tried it and with the first one, he complained of a tummy ache...assumed maybe it was due to the calorie load, but now at times he requests it. We haven't heard anything definitive from Dr. O yet...My new ped thinks the mollascum contagiousum is really neurofibromatosis...so awaiting referrals for that. He has had a cough and URI since thanksgiving...Not really bad enough for antibiotics, but annoying... Hope Dani is doing okay. Thanks for your input... Guest guest
Hi , Lucas had severe problems as an infant and early toddler until we got on IgIV then they seemed to clear up . He could not eat anything and was FTT. He had bloody stools and there was not a formula on the market he could take. We eventually made up our own goats milk formula with good results. So do look at food allergies especially milk. Biopsies showed a very friable gut in other words very irritated starting when he was only 2 months old. Have you looked at food allergies. My son has severe stomach cramps out of the blue it seems then we look back and he ate dairy. He does not get the diarreah from it but gets constipated. But the cramping from the gut irritibility is the worst. He has also had H pyloris as well as very high Gastric eosinophilia counts. These kids are all prone to having gastric issues especilaly if their IgA is low since the mucus membranes are the first line of defense. I think also the antibiotics they get cause the gut to loose its normal flora so we use probiotics with him. this has helped the most to stop the tummy aches. I know that adults end up with further problems with their guts that are more in the autoimmune realm. I would say that many of them start in childhood and they are not able to tell us fully.
