have they thought of a Power Pic line for your grumpy veins..I use to have a

port in my chest, but the stay in Hospital they took it out

thinking it was causing my high fevers (it was not) now I have one of them new

fangled power picks, it has two lines so they can

hook up blood and other things except platelets, that has to be hooked up alone.

It is not theold pick lines but this one has no stitch

in it.... if you do not have one ask your doc.

say hi to jimmy

SkipD dx'ed when dead sea was just sick

Dear Anita,

It has been a long time since I heard the phrase, " right smack dab in the

middle " . I wonder where that originated. Any of our librarians know? LOL

Bobby is right, These are trials to find a cure. We are just around the corner

for a cure, but and the Arganauts have not arrived with the the Golden

Fleece just yet. Meanwhile, as Bobby said, we have options and lucky to have

better than what was available 30 years ago, just ask Skip. I was on the ATRA

trial with Hydrea for 4 years. This stuff is still being used to bring down the

wbc, but my blood vessels collapsed like dead flies when I was on it, they just

" rolled over " . Now they have a hard time finding vessels they can use and as a

result, one arm is dry and the other has been overused and pokes out like a

pebble.

Meanwhile the bunsen burners were going full speed ahead, with the little elves

working around the clock on the silver bullet, STI. That was all the buzz and

was as important to us as the first man on the moon was to the rest of the

world. We were waiting for our sustenance. Now our beloved Gleevec has siblings

and we have found ways to circumvent many of the side effects by switching back

and forth, if necessary. These are the good times, folks, revel in it.

Hands & hearts,

Lottie Duthu

My Dear Sweet Lottie,

You really should write a book like Sue said you have a such a way with words.

LOL I Google the saying but all I found was a Nabisco cookie page giving

coupons.. Yummy

I too would love to see a cure, to live life without taking pills would be oh so

wonderful. But until that happens I will just go on living a wonderful life

taking pills.

Hope everyone is having a super weekend. Know I sure am

Anita

I can't tell you how long " smack dab in the middle " has been around. I do know

my grandmother always said I was " samck dad in the middle " of everything in the

1940's and 50's here in middle America. Of course I was, I attempted to know

everything anybody was doing thus being in the adults when they were working.

Remembering old things brings to mind St. 's Day. I want to wish everone

a Happy St. 's Day. I always remember my grandfather planted his garden

by the almanac and he always planted his potatoes on St. 's Day. When I

was about 8 years old he wanted me to help him. It had been raining and cold,

but he had to get his potatoes planted. He decided that my bare feet were the

right size so he me use my bare feet to push the potato eye into the mud. Cold

you bet and all he would do was laugh and tell me there was only a few more to

plant. By the way, he had another bumper crop that year.
