Guest guest
Ashton was not diagnosed until she was 11 years. She had ear infections from less than 2 weeks old, and bad case of yeast in ears, mouth, and bottom. She continued with recurrent ear infections, tonsillitis, strep, strange skin rashes, and fatigue. We saw the ENT's at CHOP at 3 mos old. They found yeast in her ears. She still kept getting sick and infections. We moved a great deal, and that didn't help. She was diagnosed with allergies and asthma, and those were the catch-all for her illnesses and fatigue. We finally got to an immunologist that took less than a year to diagnose her. At first, they did allergy shots, but that first winter, she got sick and never got better. He started testing right after Christmas, and she was on IVIG by March. Best thing that ever happened. She was deteriorating before my eyes. She is now 5'7 " and 118lbs. People are amazed at how much she has changed. She doesn't cough all the time, etc. I wish she had been diagnosed as an infant or toddler.
