Guest guest
I know some of you are familar with adrenal problems and have a question. Reagon's cortisol has tested low ever since being on high dose steroids a year ago. We have kept her on just 1 mg of prednisone a day to replace what her body would normally make. Last month I had a saliva test done that tested her cortisol at 8:00 a.m. noon 4:00 pm. and midnight. While her cortisol didn't even register at 8:00..it was off the charts at midnight??? Which leads me to wonder..does she really need the 1 mg of prednisone if her body is making cortisol..just at night? And my next question is, when all of this started her dr. had switched her to Advair 115 4 puffs a day. I have read that anything over 400 mcg a day of fluticasone (Advair) can have greater effects on cortisol levels than budesonide (pulmicort) does. I want to discuss all this with her dr. next week at her appt. would would appreciate any experience/knowledge anyone might have with this. Thanks!
