Guest guest
Hello, My rash has not gotten any better. It first started looking like chicken pox blistering of the skin. It now looks like a really bad case of hives. It is only on one arm. What did the gleevec rash do with you bobbie? It is really weird how much it is changing. The doc is leaving it up to me whether to go see them or not, they are 4 hours from my house so i hate to make the trip for a rash. I went to urgent care and they gave me steroids, my onc. said to take them and go back on gleevec(i stopped for a couple of days) and see what happens. Guest guest
, I had the rash. I don't know if I posted to your notes or not. But I had the rash and it started on my legs and got all over my body. Does it look like it is spreading? I have said before that mine got so bad they had to stop gleevec and I went on Sprycel after two weeks off everything. If it does not get better you should go in.. They tried me on steroids also and that did not work. I must have bought every cream on the market too.!!!! It also went to my face before they stopped me on gleevec. Don't let it get that bad. I know a lot of people will tell you to hang in there that it will go away.maybe it will..it did not for me. I was a mess!!!!! It also left a lot of scars and I had to go on a special treatment to get rid of them with a dermatologist. And It worked. But do not let it get that bad..watch and see if it spreads. Keep me posted. Guest guest
I had a slight rash on my face which did not last. the arms were scaly and red, so were the legs. The legs were the worst, one blister ulcerated and I thought it would never heal. I was going to an acupuncturist for another reason, and he also helped my rash. I used cortisone creams on it, stopped gleevec for a while, it eventually got better, but I still have scars from it. I can't find the pics of it, will need help from my grandson to bring them up and post them again. Good luck, I am sure it will go away with time. Bobby a ( Bobby ) Doyle, dob 12/17/29 Brecksville, Ohio, USA DX 5/1995 Interferon 9 weeks/Hydroxyurea 5 years 02/2000 to 06/2002 Gleevec trial, OHSU 06/2002 Gleevec/Trisenox Trial, OHSU 06/2003 Gleevec/Zarnestra Trial, OHSU 04/2004 Sprycel Trial, MDACC, CCR in 10 months 04/2008 XL228 Trial, U of Mich. 01/2009 PCR 5.69 04/2009 Ariad Trial AP24534 09/2009 PCR 0.017 11/2009 PCR 0.034 #840 Zavie's Zero Club From: Murray <mylifemyhappiness@...> Subject: [ ] Re: Rash, Help? Guest guest
Yes, definitely, do not let it go, see a dermatologist, it can get bad. a ( Bobby ) Doyle, dob 12/17/29 Brecksville, Ohio, USA DX 5/1995 Interferon 9 weeks/Hydroxyurea 5 years 02/2000 to 06/2002 Gleevec trial, OHSU 06/2002 Gleevec/Trisenox Trial, OHSU 06/2003 Gleevec/Zarnestra Trial, OHSU 04/2004 Sprycel Trial, MDACC, CCR in 10 months 04/2008 XL228 Trial, U of Mich. 01/2009 PCR 5.69 04/2009 Ariad Trial AP24534 09/2009 PCR 0.017 11/2009 PCR 0.034 #840 Zavie's Zero Club From: Sharon Teichera <onthewtr@...> Subject: RE: [ ] Re: Rash, Help? There is an increased incidence of shingles with Gleevec, because Gleevec suppresses the immune system. Is it quite painful? If it is shingles, you need to start the proper treatment right away so that it will clear more quickly. Even your GP should be able to dx this? This is something to at least check out. C.
