Guest guest
Congratulations Jen!   I visited my Dr a week ago. He indicated that the protocol for strong responders was changing and that he would no longer be performing a BMB on me. He also tol me he would reduce my PCR testing down to 2 times a year vs 4 times a year.   Has onyone else got this feedback from their Drs?  I have been PCR-U for at least 2 years.  thanks From: <jms30@...> Subject: [ ] bmb news Date: Wednesday, March 24, 2010, 2:32 PM  Hi all! I haven't been on in awhile. I had a bmb in Feb. It took 5 attempts and they were only able to get a small sample, no fluid. They ran the tests. The molecular test came back great. But they were unable to run the cytogenetics. So I had another bmb 3 weeks ago. This time they were able to get fluid on the first attempt! I was very grateful. I got the call last week that it was negative for ph+. Yay! Jen

Guest guest
Hi Chris: They changed my protocol quite a few years ago. I do my regular blood work every 3months, and I get my PCR done every 6 months. I do not get a BMB. My Oncologist told me that he could see from my blood work if a BMB was indicated. This has been my plan of treatment now for 5 years since I became PCRU. My oncologist retired this past year, and I am in the process of looking for a new doctor. I was just turned over to the doctor who took over, and do not feel a connection with this guy. I even checked with Dr. Druker to get his response. He agreed with my former Oncologist that you can tell by the blood work and PCR how things are going, and only if he saw changes he would recommend a BMB at this point. I have to see what this new doctor will think. I probably would be getting the BMB, if I was not PCRU. > > > From: <jms30@...> > Subject: [ ] bmb news > > Date: Wednesday, March 24, 2010, 2:32 PM > > > Â > > > > Hi all! Guest guest
Thanks! I have had 3 bmb's. My initial one with diagnosis. The last 2 were my " 6 month " check. I have been told I should not need another one unless my PCR goes up. I have my bloodwork done every 3 months currently which includes a PCR. That may change if things continue to look good. > > > From: <jms30@...> > Subject: [ ] bmb news > > Date: Wednesday, March 24, 2010, 2:32 PM > > > Â > > > > Hi all! I haven't been on in awhile.
