Guest guest
I thought some of you might appreciate this as funny. You guys know how our senses of humor get sort of warped after a few yrs in the PIDD trenches:) So Dh and I had a little weekend planned for our 15th anniversary. We havent been anywhere by ourselves in YEARS. The kids had been pretty good, healthwise, and my parents agreed to watch them from Friday after school until yesterday. As I posted a few days ago, kid #4 came down with stomach flu on Wednesday. By Thursday, he seemed much better, and we were thrilled we could still go. Friday morning, we dropped the kids off at school, and were flying thru the house packing up, and just as we were almost ready.......the phone rang. It was the school. Kid #3 was puking, could I please come get him? gggrrrr. So I called my mom, she said she would still watch the kids, but I had to drive the sick one out to her house, since she already had to drive across town twice to pick up my kids from school......they have different pick up times. So I wait for the vomiting to abate somewhat, load up the car, fix him a bucket, and drive across town to drop him off. I felt bad to leave him, but at this point we were almost desperate to get out of town and have this time to have fun. DH was ready and packed and all we had to do was load up our car. AS SOON AS I walked in the house from dropping off my son....... the phone rang. It was the school. Kid #2 was sick....she's in the office, very pale and says she's going to puke. PLEASE COME GET HER ASAP. sigh. I really hated to call my mom again. But I did. She sighed. But she said she would come pick her up. At that point I was ready to cry. Felt like we should just stay home and forget it. But mom insisted we go.....I really need to think of something great to do for her for Christmas. We did get to go.....the concert was great.......it was lovely to stay up late.....sleep in late.....walk around holding hands with DH:). AND DH surprised me with an emerald and diamond ring!!! Maybe we'll try it again in, I dont know, another ten yrs:) valarie mom to 3 w/cvid
