Guest guest
Dear Anita, It has been a long time since I heard the phrase, " right smack dab in the middle " . I wonder where that originated. Any of our librarians know? LOL Bobby is right, These are trials to find a cure. We are just around the corner for a cure, but and the Arganauts have not arrived with the the Golden Fleece just yet. Meanwhile, as Bobby said, we have options and lucky to have better than what was available 30 years ago, just ask Skip. I was on the ATRA trial with Hydrea for 4 years. This stuff is still being used to bring down the wbc, but my blood vessels collapsed like dead flies when I was on it, they just " rolled over " . Now they have a hard time finding vessels they can use and as a result, one arm is dry and the other has been overused and pokes out like a pebble. Meanwhile the bunsen burners were going full speed ahead, with the little elves working around the clock on the silver bullet, STI. That was all the buzz and was as important to us as the first man on the moon was to the rest of the world. We were waiting for our sustenance. Now our beloved Gleevec has siblings and we have found ways to circumvent many of the side effects by switching back and forth, if necessary. These are the good times, folks, revel in it. Hands & hearts, Lottie Duthu
