Hello All!

Need some suggestions in how to get rid of the rash that has appeared on my

face...it's kind of red and itchy - and feels " orange peely " - has anyone

encountered this...I have some cortizone cream they gave me but that is not

working...it seems to have gotten worse since I started working out...my husband

says that the Gleevec is working it's way out of my pores when I sweat..sounds

gross but he's probably right...Just thought I try here for some suggestions

before going back to the doctor for another cream...maybe someone has another

suggestions...feel free to throw it out here!!!

Thanks!

Cheryl

Hi Cheryl,

I think your husband is right. I posted on the othe site that hot yoga keeps the

rash under control fom me. Sweating ghe toxins out makes a difference. Best to

you! Kim

Hi Cheryl

I don't know what causes the rash, but Gleevec definitely does something weird

to one's skin. I have rosacea now (bright red cheeks) which I only got after

starting Gleevec. Also, my upper arms are bumpy and sort of dry and itchy, and

weirdest of all, my RIGHT arm seems to be much worse--my right hand is puffy and

bumpy and my right hand knuckles are red and inflamed and swollen but not my

left. I don't know what the cause of all of this could be, except that it has

all started since I started taking Gleevec. Hope someone somewhere addresses

this at some point--I would be interested to know what the mechanism is, too.

Good luck with it--I just put a moisturizing lotion like lachydrin on it and

that seems to help as much as anything--though nothing really changes.

Good luck--let me know if you find something that works.
