Guest guest
Hi everyone, I wish you all a very Happy New Year and fantastic 2010 from a very hot Australia. A HUGE congrats to Lottie - talk about a fantastic Christmas and New Year present and also to Beth and Jackie. Go girls – it is great news for all our newbies joining the group . Others have said this more eloquently than me in congratulating you all. Also, a big thank you for your support with my brother – we have had a campaign here to ring someone over the holidays to show that you cared if you knew they were troubled and struggling whether from depression, cancer, failed marriages, job loss, drought etc and it is so true if you don’t have any support or feel you have no one who cares for you. I feel blessed I have CML and not all the physical problems my 51 year old brother has as a result of poorly controlled diabetes which has left him with cardiomyopathy, legs which should be amputated and now almost blind and a failed 3rd marriage and no one close by except for his church to help him deal with all his problems. It is so sad and difficult as he lives 1000’s of km away and basically he has always been in denial about it all and would not take control and help himself. I am so fortunate to have a loving family who cares about me and will never be alone. Bring on the New Year and embrace that we can choose to live or be defeated by our disease. Thank you to Zavie, Lottie and Tracey for this group, it has been my lifeline and I treasure all the friends I have made in the past 2 ½ years of my diagnosis. Cheers, Celebrating 12 months of ongoing PCRU.
Guest guest
Hi , Happy New Year to you too. I also have an uncle that doesn't take care of his diabetes. He doesn't have anything severe right now, but there will come a day when complications set in. I hope he is able to beat them. It took me a long time to take cml seriously. It's a part of my life now and it's not going away, but it doesn't run my life. I've accepted the changes my body has gone through and my mind.  I'm just grateful to be alive. My son-in-law lost his dear 85 yr old grandma today to colon cancer. She was the glue that kept the family together. I hope they can all come together and get past their difference for her sake. He lost his grandfather a year ago to complications from surgery for esophagus cancer. We are all praying that 2010 will be a cancer free year of any new diagnosis'. 2009 took the lives of many family members from cancer. So glad it's over. Guest guest
You got through to me! Welcome back! You have been missed. Sharon Sent via BlackBerry by AT & T [ ] Happy New Year Hello everyone, and Happy New Year I have not been able to log on to the site and finally got on using Jimmy's name and now I am again denied access. Guess I am personna non grata. Thank you all for the beautiful Christmas cards, I do appreciate them all, very much. Maybe this will get through. Just a test. If not successfull, I will be fretting away time for insufficient postage. I cannot tell you how much I missed all of you, and while I could not send, I did receive your emails. Occasionally, one would get through, so some may have received a short note from me. It was quite an experience for that length of time. Made it back home in time for Christmas. Lots of people stayed behind and for them I hope all goes well in 2011. Many have been there for months and for them a challenge still awaits them as they linger for more treatments. Be of good cheer, Lottie
