Guest guest
Valarie. Lucas had the same reaction to DTAP and Polio that were given together when he was 2. Scared me to death. We ended up back in the ER the next day9 18 hrs later.,with a temp of 105. His blood work shifted in that 24 hours and they told me he had a severe ear infection as well as he has a left shift in his differential . Meaning his bloodwork showed he was fighting an infection. They gave him IV antx in the ER and he got better. He was totally lethargic and would not move his arm. I was angry with myself since I had not given his vaccines and let the Dr.s bully me into giving the DtAP. I would say that the only other vaccines he has had is the Pnuemovaccine and he has had it 3 times with NO problems. So sorry she is feeling so bad. Her arm still hurts like crazy, but the fever is coming down. BUT.....her throat still hurts, and overnight her sinuses have become crazy congested, she just woke up begging for a sinus rinse(which she HATES) so I know her sinuses must hurt a lot. Im wondering if maybe she was coming down with something that just wasnt obvious at the time we gave the shot......and thats why she is having such a hard time, fighting both things at once. Hows Macey since her surgery? is she feeling better? valarie mom to 3 w/cvid In groups (DOT) com, Ursula Holleman <uahollem@.. .> wrote: > > > I'd say watch her. Listen that her throat doesn't close up and report it to the administering doc and the pneumovax company tomorrow. If it were Macey and the fever cleared the next day then I would say it was a reaction. If she carried fever over the weekend then I'd say it was an infection/viral thing and treat that. > > Either way the fevers no fun. > > Ursula - mom to (16) and Macey (13,CVID) > > > > > > > >
