Guest guest
I reread your post. So why trial off if he gets ANY infection that is not the purpose of trialing off . The purpose is to retest the system to see where you are. Barbie-- You were right on in your first response...Bri's insurance put a call in to the Immuno and he caved. He states that 90% of children never need to go back on Ig replacement...a figure I have never heard anywhere else. The IDF has not heard it, either. When we walked into the room, the Immuno said TO BRIAN, " They (the insurance company) can help either or thousands of other children!! " I was literally dumbfounded. I did argue with him and tell him that he always mentioned trialing off in the summer. As to date, Bri has never been able to attend school without Ig replacment. I did receive a letter from his old Ped, but as it stands nothing will change this person's mind. To complicate matters further: Bri is allergic to the Pneumovax. There cannot be retesting for specific antibody deficiency--which we all think is Bri's main " issue " as far as infections. So, I have no idea what we're trying to prove here, but I don't think it's going to work. I am really not trying to be negative, but after so many years of chronic--continual, really--infections I just want him to be well which is what SubQ accomplished so well.
