Guest guest
Hello all. Lottie what a great thing you have going, I wish to congrat all the CML'ers newly dx and old timers. I am sure the expanding list of 10+ years will show the newly dx that this is disease that can be managed until a cure does come along. I am so proud of all the 10+ who have tried all the new drugs so that we beifit from them thank you so much. Even tho I am a long timer I just started the new drugs about five years ago and wish to thank those who have gone into the trials. My drug was Myleran up until then.. To dangerous to use long term (lol) so I was told. SkipD dxed 33 years go __________________________________________________________________ The new Internet Explorer® 8 - Faster, safer, easier. Guest guest
Hi Skip, it's nice to be appreciated , as in us old timers entering trials for new drugs. But on the other hand, for instance, when I entered the STI571 (Gleevec) trial, I really had no other choice, nor did the rest of us. It was a do or die situation, and an experimental drug was better than the alternative. Luckily it worked, as did Sprycel and Tasigna. Out of the 6 trials I've been in 3 worked, at least for a while, and 3 did not. I am keeping my fingers crossed for Ariad, it's been one year in April, so far so good. And just look at you, over 33 years and congratulating us? You are a marvel all by yourself, kudos to you!!
