I had an opportunity to see the show today. The focus of the segment was on Dr.

Druker and cancer development and the breakthrough he achieved with Gleevec. CML

was barely mentioned.

I'm glad that Dr. Druker was the focus and that he continues to get credit as he

deserves so much MORE!!!!!

I was fortunate enough to meet him once. Such a wonderful man.

I was so disappointed in the show. The show was titled the Miracle Pill, and I

am sure so many people were interested besides all of us who are experiencing

the drugs and CML. IT was brushed over for 14 minutes. Nobody got to ask

questions, or tell their story to encourage others. Dr. Druker hardly got a

chance to even speak.

Curious as to what others thought. Just my opinion.

I have to agree. The focus was definitely the " pill and not the people " .

What's more interesting is that Atlanta's 11alive NBC affiliate interviewed Dr.

Oz independently and the information was a bit " misleading " (I'll let you be the

judge). As we all know, Gleevec and the other TKIs are NOT a cure for CML.

The anchors and reporters at 11Alive (WXIA) did respond correctly by saying that

Gleevec was NOT a cure.

Beth Hodges, a member of our Medical Advisory Board was featured in a short
