Guest guest
I have been hesitant to do too much in the way of supplements bc of my kids CVID. We do use calcium, Vit D, and magnesium in a combined supplement, and probiotics. My 8 yr old son has problems with paying attention. This has always been a problem for him.....he's a great kid, he just doesnt pay attention. He was held back once in first grade, largely due to this problem. Half the time in class he hasnt any idea whats going on, what he is supposed to be doing. He rarely finishes any classwork w/o lots of extra help. He was seen by a devel ped due to bedwetting that has always been a problem for him....he might have a dry night once 3-4 months. She felt he has ADHD inattentive type and we trialed Adderall. While it did help his focusing greatly, it did increase his anxiety, and we ended up with him sobbing all day in school, being unable to eat at school, feeling paranoid, having no friends, not being able to play. He just cried all the time. Now he is seeing a psychiatrist who is treating him with Zoloft for depression, with hopes to trial off of that this next summer. He is no longer taking Adderall, and I have no desire to go this this mess again. A friend who is heavily into biomed for her autistic daughter recently mentioned that B6 and magnesium have been found to help with focus......Ive read some about this, and it seems like magnesium might also help with bedwetting? We'd LOVE to get that under control, as he has had a rash on his rear for a yr we're still trying to clear up, and I think it might keep getting aggravated from being wet all night(it appears to be bacteria based). I understand why we need to be cautious about supplements and herbal type thing with our kids. Im wondering if anyone knows if this would be safe, if anyones tried it and it worked, and how much you gave? thanks, valarie mom to 3 w/cvid
