Guest guest Posted April 20, 2004 Report Share Posted April 20, 2004 I haven't had any noticeable fatigue at all. I was diagnosed about twelve years ago, but had it before that. I'm 58 now, and sleep about 6 - 7 hours a night, which is more than enough. I just retired, but was a teacher previously, so I had a strenuous job, physically as well as emotionally. Guest guest Posted April 20, 2004 Report Share Posted April 20, 2004 I haven't suffered from fatigue in general. When I am in the middle of a flare, I will feel that really deep achy kind of tired. But my life rarely stops long enough for me to sleep for too long - so I try and take a good nap in the middle of the day if it works out. Guest guest Posted April 23, 2004 Report Share Posted April 23, 2004 prior to my diagnosis when the drs were evaluating my symptoms, i did notice a great deal of overwhelming fatigue - usually mid afternoon is when it would affect me the most... I also noticed that it did seem to happen less after I had been on being on MTX, folic acid for about a month. It is also less noticable when pain is under control - Maybe that is the way our bodies tell us to slow down?. The only way i could explain it to others (friends/family) was the same feeling that a mother has during the first few months of pregnancy - just no controlling the tiredness at all. I have noticed that when i'm going into a flare i do seem to be more runned down or require more rest/sleep = that is sort of my indication of what is coming.
