Yes, I feel it does kill off the good bacteria, BUT it also does a number on yeast better than anything else I've found so far. So what I do is when my son acts yeasty (hyper, goofy, spacy, constipated) I give him 2 drops of GSE 2-3 days in a row. On those same days, but hours after the GSE, I give him extra probiotics. I feel this is keeping his yeast at bay and also maintaining his good bacteria. Good luck, Debbie
Guest guest
Hi , Have you ever had some of the oil get on your hand?? It BURNS!!!! I would definitely not give it to him directly as he could get a sore in his mouth. I don't know why you have to give five drops. We used only two drops in a capsule for our 56 pound, 9 year old son and it worked fine. Maybe you could try something else besides oil of Oregano. How about some GrapeFruit Seed extract (2 drops) in some juice? There are also other antifungals besides OoO and GSE, so maybe you could try those. Sorry I can't be more helpful. Guest guest
Do you mean grapefruit seed extract or grape seed extract? I didn't think grape seed extract was a yeast fighter--is it? Guest guest
Hi and thanks for your responses on this! I have a quesiton. I was told that Grapefruit Seed Extract also kills the " good " bacteria and have not considered it for this reason. We are taking Acidolphus but I was still warned that GSE could seriously get us into worse shape than we are now. So.. have some of you used it succesfully and did you have any problems? Did you give something with it and if so, what? How can you tell if it is causing the " good " bacteria to be killed off too? Sorry for all the questions. My little boy is SOOO young now and I am a bit paranoid I guess about putting things into him since he can't tell me how he is feeling yet. Thanks again! Have a blessed week! > > > Hi I am giving Oil of Oregano to my 22 month old/25 lb toddler > for > > > yeast. I just read on another list to use up to 5 drops. Guest guest
We've found putting a drop in an empty Houston enzyme capsule to work well for the Oil of Oregano. Oil of Oregano I'm getting ready to start OoO with my son. I'm wondering if you have to put the drops in a capsule...would they burn going down the throat if you didn't? I've just been reading Dr. Shaw's book, Biological Treatments for Autism and PDD. I read through it quickly and am going back through it again and taking notes. From my brief overview, it seems that after you stop antifungal treatment, the yeast comes right back again due to certain immune dysfunction or that the yeast is so firmly embedded in parts of the intestinal tract. Has anyone successfully completed treatment for a long term and seen long lasting results or should I anticipate having to treat for yeast for an indefinite time? Thanks for all your help, Sharon K. Guest guest
then you may want to buy the caps already made. This is a great price on this site I usually buy it on sale for $22.00 regularly $30.00 at my local HFS http://www.fubao.bigstep.com/north/oreganol.htm?OVRAW=oreganol & OVKEY=oreganol & OV\ MTC=standard [ ] Re: Oil of Oregano > Hello all. Guest guest
Hi Tina, We use Oreganol. Their website is helpful in terms of dosing. www.oreganol.com I spoke with the company re: dosing for yeast/bacteria for my 8 y.o. 50 lb. son, and was told I could dose at 2-3 drops 3x a day up to 3 weeks. They also recommended keeping up with the probiotics during that period. Oregano oil is phenolic and my son cannot take it without a no-fenol enzyme to counteract that effect, (which for him is increased hyperactivity, irritability). Since die-off symptoms and phenolic overload symptoms appear to overlap (or at least in my house , I wonder if it could be both things you are seeing ? Maybe dividing the 7 drops out (I know it tastes horrible) would have a more gentle effect for him? This is powerful stuff! Best Wishes, Patty
Guest guest
My 8 year old granddaughter gets 3 drops under the tongue three to four times a day when needed. Ethel rheumatic Oil of Oregano > Hi All, > > Hope everyone is well. It's been really busy with the kids sports schedules and school stuff. Haven't posted in awhile but I do check the group posts to keep up everyone. I'm doing great so far. Getting blood test results at next rheumy visit. Can't wait to see if they've come down even more. My little guy is under the weather at the moment and I remembered that Geoff had mentioned giving oil of oregano to his kids. Or at least that's what this overloaded mind of mine remembers. I have some in the house as I sometimes take it myself. Does anyone know how many drops and how often it should be given to a child? He's 8. Thanks and I hope everyone is feeling well and in good spirits. > > Regards, > Dee > > >

Try giving it in the capsule, along with some No-Fenol enzyme, see if that helps. Dana
Guest guest
We just rub 4 drops on each foot at night, then put a sock on. Simple, easy, and just as effective. Guest guest
The oil of oregeno works as an internal yeast treatment By putting it on the skin? That's what you meant by effective? you are treating yeast issues with it and not athletes foot or something? Wow, I have never heard that before. That may save me from the guiltiest minute and a half of my day Oil of Oregano Are there any particular tricks to giving OoO? Guest guest
I don't fully understand how it works, but it really and truly does. It was recommended to us by Dorfman, a nutritionist. When we went to see Dr. Compart (DAN) she hadn't heard of it and asked her pharmacist. He quickly agreed that it does work transdermally. Whenever I see the red ring on his butt, I know it's time for a month of OoO at night. And, he really enjoys his nightly foot tickle. When we're not treating for yeast, I often rub his feet with lotion, just to keep up the routine. Give it a try, I'd love to hear that it works for others, and is so much less traumatic than trying to ingest it somehow! Oil of Oregano Are there any particular tricks to giving OoO? Guest guest
Hi , I want to thank you for the reminder that you can use OoO transdermally. My daughter's yeast flared yesterday during her first round of chelation. We increased her probiotic and applied the OoO to her feet. Today was absolutely wonderful. Must say that we've increased the probiotic in the past, but have never seen such a quick resolution to the yeast. Must be the OoO. Thanks! Guest guest
I too wanted to thank you for bringing this up. I have been trying to incoroprate ooo into our yeast fighting system, and it makes my son gag and run the other way when he tastes it. I look forward to trying it this way Thanks again Libby Re: Oil of Oregano Hi , I want to thank you for the reminder that you can use OoO transdermally. Guest guest
The one we are using now is the store brand from the Vitamin Shop. I like it since it comes with a dropper so it's easy to use. It doesn't smell as strong as the last one we used, but does seem to be effective.
