I personally would suspect the Ginsing since it is the only thing that is new and it wouldn't hurt to stop it.

Do you have a fever? Do you feel like you are coming down with a virus?

Are you suspecting caffeine (twitch in eye, shaky hand)? Does the ginsing bottle have any other ingredients listed on the label? If yes, somethimes these preparations sneak caffeine in under a different name (like Kola berry). I have know of people who complained of insomnia just to later find out that their herbal supplement contained caffeine.

I can't help with what caused it (but I also would suspect Ginseng). I strongly recommend that you call your doctor (I would call my PCP) to let him/her know about this. It could also be something like blood pressure or dozens of other things. You need to get it checked out to see if it is something that might recur and would be helped by treatment. Good luck and God bless.

Subject: weird, room spinning

very weird incident happened to me at work today.I was working on a notebook for a producer—nothing hard at all, just writing in page numbers.all of a sudden, the room began spinning, I mean really spinning, and I thought I was about to pass out. I’ve passed out ONE time in my entire life so this was not usual for me, I am not the type who passes out when overheated or fatigued.what the heck?anyone?no change in medication. I thought maybe I’d inadvertently eaten something I’m allergic to, but called the restaurant and they don’t use peanut oil (because people are allergic to it).I have not had quite enough sleep lately but I haven’t had NO sleep, just less than I needed. was really REALLY tired yesterday, but today, though it was hard to sleep (stuffy and had to turn ac on) I know I had a solid five or six hours, which is normal for me.all I can think of is that for a few weeks I’ve been taking ginseng every morning.apart from that what the heck???????? again NO change in any medication. my hands were a little shaky as I was eating lunch— it was chili so I noticed I was having some trouble with the spoon. my eye is a little twitchy now from fatigue but again the room spinning did NOT feel like your ordinary fatigue.I have had one half a cup of coffee, some iced tea.any thoughts????

My first rheumatologist had some knowledge of herbs and other

supplements. He warned me that people with RA should avoid ginseng

and echinacea, as both are immune system stimulants. We want to calm

our overactive immune systems, not excite them further.

Gwen,

Sounds like verdigo (sp?). It can be caused by the sand inside your inner ear

getting out of position or low blood sugar and other things. Check on webmd.

If it comes back or gets worse - go to your PCP and get it checked out. It's not

fun - I know I have lost several days over the last 2 years to it. It comes and

goes.

Best wishes,
