Guest guest
: Would it help if you had some Tasigna mailed to you? Maybe someone would have access to some that could be mailed to you until you get all this worked out. Do you think that would help? What dose are you taking? [ ] panic time I was supposed to be getting Tasigna through the Novartis patient assistance program. Here's the rub. My state disability has run out and my return to unemployment has yet to begin. I am doing OK on my savings. But as far as Novartis goes, I am a person with no income. So they called today and told me I have TWO DAYS to submit a letter from my doctor ON LETTERHEAD stating that he knows for a fact I have no income. They said it's got to be from my doctor -- not a therapist, not a nurse practitioner -- and it must be on personal letterhead. I was embarrassed to death, but I asked my doctor, and he was taken aback. He didn't feel like it was proper for him to vouch for a patient's finances. He is not in that business. He is up to his gills treating patients and overseeing residents. The thing I don't get is, Novartis HAS all my paperwork. They've got records up the kazoot! Bank statements, what have you. But If I don't cough up this letter-on-letterhead within two business days they are officially declining my request. Has anyone had to deal with anything like this before? I'm in a panic. Guest guest
Well, I haven't started yet, but the prescription was written for 200 mg pills. I think I was supposed to start on 400 mg then move to 800. I haven't done the ECG or labs yet because it seemed premature to do that before I even had the meds in hand. The nurse practitioner at the county hospital is calling Novartis now and I'm just sitting here with my fingers crossed. THANK YOU what a kind suggestion! Guest guest
Dear , Novartis used to be so kind to deal with but that has changed recently. Yes, they would send me the same form three times in a row and my doctor got fed up filling up the same form. Then one would come and I was to reply by fax within two days and all that kind of thing. The best thing to do is call them, ask for the manager/supervisor[ and state your case. They have now dropped me after 4and a half years. Just as an aside when I was talking to them about a delivery they said they would not provide free Gleevec to me after March. It was a bombshell and made my wife and I very distressed. When I asked the reason they said it was just a change of policy. No letter, nothing. Happily, we have now been covered by PSI so we can breathe and enjoy life again. Novartis never used to be like this, I wonder if it is a change of policy or a change of personnel? I do hope they come through for you. Do call them personally and have a chat.
